about

Patrick Egersborg is a Norwegian baritone based in Oslo, known for his warm timbre, strong stage presence, and versatility across a wide range of repertoire. His work spans Italian and German opera, contemporary music theatre, and interdisciplinary productions.

In 2023, he made his debut as Conte di Luna in Il trovatore with Operaen in Kristiansund, conducted by Torodd Wigum and directed by Mattias Palm. That same year, he performed the role of Mr. Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Grimeborn Festival in London, in a Skeive Stemmer production originally staged at Rosendal Theatre in Trondheim.

While living in Copenhagen he has performed roles such as Silvio and Tonio (Pagliacci), and Marco (Gianni Schicchi) at the Copenhagen Opera Festival and Opera Søholm in Denmark. In October 2023, he premiered the role of The Case Worker in Systemet, a new opera created in collaboration with Operakollektivet and composers Oda Fiskum and Gísli Grétarsson. The work was presented at the Operudagar Festival in Reykjavík and at Opera Trøndelag in Norway.

Patrick is the co-founder and producer of Operakollektivet, an Oslo-based company dedicated to new formats and collaborative approaches in opera. He trained at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin and the National Academy of Opera in Oslo (KhiO), performing roles such as Don Alfonso, Eugen Onegin, Belcore, Albert, Figaro, and Papageno during his studies.

Earlier in his career, Patrick sang bass roles including Zuniga, Angelotti, and Marullo with companies such as RingsakerOperaen, Opera Østfold, and Grange Park Opera (UK). In 2024, he premiered his first solo show, Is This It?, a personal and musical performance commissioned by the Herning Opera Festival in Denmark.

Beyond staged productions, Patrick has appeared in concert with the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, the Oslo Opera Festival, and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

IS THIS IT? - THE WORLD'S LAST OPERA CONCERT

Can one justify pursuing the dream of becoming an opera star in a world afflicted by climate catastrophes, war, and social polarization? In IS THIS IT? Patrick receives guidance from Rigoletto, Javert, Macbeth, and The Flying Dutchman as he grapples with these questions.

What begins as a seemingly traditional classical concert takes an unexpected turn when opera singer Patrick Egersborg discovers that an enormous tsunami is set to obliterate everything within minutes. In a manic attempt to realize his dream of singing the great opera roles before he dies, the concert transforms into a spontaneous kamikaze-show, complete with frantic costume changes and clumsy reflections on life at the end of days.

In IS THIS IT? The Flying Dutchman and the opera singer are united in their battle against the same enemy: hope.
